<title><![CDATA[E coli outbreak spreads panic]]></title>

<description><![CDATA[The recent outbreak of E-coli related illnesses and deaths in Germany, has sparked widespread concern over the safety of food and food hygiene. Although the bacteria causing this outbreak is believed to be a new and more virilent strain, the UK Health Protection Agency is reminding people, in particular those travelling abroad, of the importance of following basic hygiene procedures such as washing fruit and vegetables before eating them, peeling or cooking fruit and vegetables and washing hands regularly to prevent person-to-person spread of E. coli strain.<br /><br />EUHealth offers an online CPD approved compliance course in Food Hygiene (HACCP) which covers key topics such as personal hygiene, food poisoning, cross contamination and keeping records. <title><![CDATA[GP commissioning pathfinders announced]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[The first groups of GPs who will take the lead in commissioning health services have been announced by Health Secretary Andrew Lansley.<br /><br />The 52 groups of GP practices have been selected to be the first to take on commissioning responsibilities as part of the Government’s plans set out in the NHS White Paper ‘Liberating the NHS: Equity and Excellence’.<br /><br />The groups selected, known as pathfinders, will work together to manage their local budgets and commission services for patients direct with other NHS colleagues and local authorities.<br /><br />For full article go to http://www.dh.gov.uk/en/Aboutus/Features/DH_122396]]></description>
